The streamer Robert “Hashinshin” Brotz was until a few months ago a successful Twitch streamer in the League of Legends. This changed when allegations arose that he had sexually harassed underage girls. The LoL community turned against him, followed by a permanent Twitch ban. The streamer maintains his innocence and now says the FBI investigated him and found nothing.
This was the uproar around Hashinshin: The streamer Hashinshin is an excellent LoL player who is at home in the top lane and made a name for himself on Twitch over the years. He was seen on Twitch for an average of 7 hours every day.
However, his career and life fell apart in the summer of 2020. At that time, there was a wave of accusations that Twitch streamers had sexually harassed women, girls, and boys in previous years. They were to be held accountable.
This very wave caught Hashinshin in July 2020 and swept him away.
Several women came forward with allegations that the streamer had approached them when they were still minors. It was said that lewd messages and nude pictures had been sent.
Quickly, the accusation arose that the LoL streamer Hashinshin was a groomer, someone who approaches underage girls early and wants to manipulate them into engaging in sexual acts with him.
This is an accusation that deeply outrages and shocks many people.
Streamer says: Accusations are a conspiracy by his ex-girlfriend
How the situation escalated: Hashinshin denied these accusations. They are fabrications. An ex-girlfriend wants to ruin him.
In his attempt to defend himself, Hashinshin came under increasing pressure and failed to present a good image. He said:
- Accusations against him are a conspiracy by two women who wanted to blackmail him. One of them is his ex-girlfriend. He may not have always acted correctly, but the accusations against him are false
- he cannot remember some years of his life because there was a gas leak in his apartment that may have caused him mental damage. 5 years would not be as present anymore
- He no longer has screenshots from the chats – he deleted them all to start a new, unburdened life with that same ex-girlfriend
Hashinshin did admit to some misdemeanors. He also apologized in one case and seemed uncertain about what he had done and what he had not.
The pressure from the community grew stronger. Other prominent LoL streamers such as Voyboy and Iwilldominate released accusatory videos and statements: How could such a person still be tolerated on Twitch? He is a pedo. He must go, and quickly.
Ultimately, Hashinshin visibly broke down under this pressure. He appeared completely distraught and erratic in videos – people around him said he was highly suicidal.
Finally, Twitch permanently banned the streamer from the streaming platform.
Streamer says: He seemed much guiltier than he was
This is what the streamer says now: The story is a few months old. Hashinshin now streams on YouTube. He is still busy trying to clear his name.
In a new 20-minute video, he appears much more composed and explains now that the FBI investigated his case and found nothing that would justify an indictment. However, he can only officially provide evidence of this in a year when the formalities are completed.
He extensively discusses the allegations against him in the video: He explains that he was blackmailed and misled by an ex-girlfriend and her acquaintances. They manipulated him and got him into this situation. They also blackmailed him for money.
To outsiders, it seemed as if there were numerous girls coming forward with their accusations. In reality, it was a group of friends who had acted against him.
He even considered suing his ex-girlfriend for defamation and said he should have done that, Hashinshin states in the video.
Due to the gas leak that actually occurred in the apartment and the manipulation by the women, he began to believe he was as bad as everyone said: Now he knows, however, that he was not as terrible as portrayed.
He reacted so poorly to these attacks because they had surprised him. Because the attacks came from people he had trusted. That is why he presented such a terrible image in the situation.
People should stop seeing him as a monster and rather as someone who simply reacted poorly:
“I messed up and looked much guiltier than I was.”
Hashinshin
Hashinshin says he hopes everything clears up. He does not want anyone to target those who had done him harm. He just wants to lead a normal life again.

This wave of accusations of sexual harassment in gaming has been running on Twitter for several months and each case is different. While some accused individuals have admitted their guilt and faced consequences, others content creators seem completely taken aback when ex-girlfriends suddenly come forward with accusations:
