In the League of Legends, Yilang “Doublelift” Peng (26) is considered one of the stars in North America. After 4 championships, Team Liquid kicked him out. He swore to take terrible revenge and punish them for their mistake. However, with his new team, Team Solo Mid, he suffered a defeat in the LCS.
This is the backstory: Doublelift is a veteran of the US League in LoL, the LCS.
From 2015 to 2017, he played for Team Solo Mid. There, he won 3 championships. After that, they kicked him out because TSM had no international success and wanted to rebuild the team around midlaner Bjergsen.
Doublelift was deeply offended that the team treated him so badly and swore revenge. He switched to Team Liquid and won the LCS championship 4 times with them, while TSM couldn’t succeed at all.
In recent years, everything went according to plan for Doublelift:
- After 7 championships in 4 years, Doublelift has risen to stardom in the LCS.
- In addition, Doublelift has built a large Twitch channel.
- Doublelift is considered one of the most popular and strongest players in the USA, who occasionally insults opponents and carries himself with bravado, which he can afford.
But in the last six months, things have not gone well for Doublelift. The now 26-year-old seemed complacent in 2020. After a poor split, Team Liquid replaced him with a younger ADC.
Ironically, Doublelift has switched back to Team Solo Mid, where his girlfriend is the eSports manager. This caused some trouble.
Doublelift vows to take revenge on Team Liquid
This was Doublelift’s declaration: The ADC apparently thought, “What works once can work a second time.”
Just as he swore revenge on Team Solo Mid after 2017, he now swore in a clip for the LCS to take terrible revenge on Team Liquid. They had “treated him poorly” and should now fear him.
Every team that kicks me out should be afraid. And I think Team Liquid should be scared now.

Doublelift said he wanted to destroy and humiliate them. Losing to him should be really embarrassing for Team Liquid.
He wants to use his ousting as a new source of motivation. He hadn’t been this hungry and motivated in years.

Team Liquid destroys TSM and Doublelift
This is how the match went: The LCS has started again. And as fate would have it, the first match was between Team Liquid and Team Solo Mid.
Doublelift and his partner Biofrost relied on the bot lane duo of Kalista and Taric but couldn’t seize the match. Instead, the game belonged to Team Liquid’s ADC, Edward “Tactical” Ra, who had replaced Doublelift. Tactical played a flawless 7-0-6 on Aphelios.
Team Liquid completely destroyed TSM and won the match in just 25 minutes with a gigantic lead.
This is how Team Liquid reacts: Team Liquid has published a video on Twitter in which the players laugh at what kind of revenge Doublelift has threatened them with.
They evidently cannot take it seriously at all.
The whole action has backfired on the star ADC.
Even more irony: When Doublelift left TSM in 2017, he was replaced by the Dane “Zven”, a star who came from Europe. However, he was rather disappointing at TSM.
Only when Zven left TSM and joined Cloud 9 did he excel again, winning the championship in the Spring Split of 2020. Currently, Zven is in top form and dominating the solo queue in the USA, although his role as the bot laner is considered weak.
For TSM, the Summer Split of 2020 started terribly.
