The planned changes for the upcoming ranked season of League of Legends bring back the Solo Queue!
In League of Legends, there was previously a ranked system where players could enter the queue for ranked matches either alone or with one other player. If you wanted to participate in ranked matches with a complete team, you could register in the team queue. After removing these options and implementing the dynamic queue into the game, players were dissatisfied. For the upcoming season of League of Legends, the developers have decided to implement a Solo/Duo queue as well as a Flexi queue.
Solo/Duo Queue in League of Legends
Compared to the Solo/Duo Queue from 2015, there will be hardly any differences. As usual, you sign up for this ranked queue alone or with a maximum of one other player. You choose 2 roles that you would like to play. If you do not want to play a specific role, you can choose “Fill” and play a role that is currently needed. You can also veto the position that you dislike the most. If you are in the Challenger tier, you can still only play alone.
The new Flexi Queue
In the Flexi Queue, you can form a group with up to 5 players to enter the queue together. You can play here as a group or as an individual player. If you are successful in this queue and gain ranks, unique rewards await you at the end of the season. If you reach at least the Gold tier in both the Solo and Flexi queues, you will additionally unlock a special reward at the end of the season.
