League of Legends receives a new and very interesting champion with Senna. Her abilities have now been revealed and many players already find her too strong.
Who is Senna? Senna is the wife of AD Carry Lucian. Her soul was captured by Thresh, but in a spectacular cinematic, her husband managed to free her.
Now she is set to roam the world of Runeterra and League of Legends. You can already test her and her abilities on the PBE. She makes a strong impression there.
What can Senna do? Senna will be a mix of support and AD Carry, with the focus according to Riot Games being on support. This impression is also given by her abilities:
- Passive: By attacking enemy champions, Senna collects mist from them. These increase her range, damage, and crit chance per stack. The stacks are consumed upon attacking.
- Piercing Darkness (Q): The ability works like Lucian’s Piercing Light, but also heals herself and allies in the beam. Additionally, the ability can also be cast on allies.
- Last Embrace (W): Senna throws mist at an enemy, rooting the target and surrounding allies.
- Curse of the Black Mist (E): Creates a field in which Senna and allies are invisible and gain movement speed. Senna is the center of the field, which moves with her. Allies leaving the field are displayed as non-targetable ghosts.
- Dawning Shadow (R): Senna fires a global laser that shields allies and deals damage to enemies in the center of the beam.
You can also watch all her new abilities in the video:
Senna has a bit of everything – does that make her too strong?
Why do players find Senna too strong? The new champion has access to many useful traits, which some players find to be too much of a good thing. Reddit user Camitsune writes:
Holy Utility. All 4 abilities have a supportive play style. She has healing, shields, CC, invisibility, and damage. The whole package.
Other users also have opinions about her abilities, but they all point in the same direction:
- Overhaul_YT: “Her ‘E’ is ridiculously broken.”
- finblu: “Her ultimate is GLOBAL?”
- VniSalska: “Her ‘E’ is a balance nightmare, I predict it.”
- Lenticious: “Teammates will appear as non-clickable ghosts after leaving the ‘E’? That sounds so unnecessary, I bet it will be removed soon.”
Players have particularly focused on the invisibility field, which was recently nerfed for Akali, and on the strong ultimate.
Here, players are already expecting nerfs before or shortly after her release.
When does Senna come out? Senna is set to be released on November 10th, conveniently coinciding with the finals of the Worlds. She will be one of five champions who will belong to the new hip-hop group True Damage, which will also make an appearance there.
There are already plans for the time after Senna. Recently, four more champions were announced.
