Riot Games has introduced the next champ for League of Legends. Renata Glasc, the “Chem-Baroness”, is supposed to cause confusion among your opponents by letting them go against each other.
When will Renata Glasc be released? Renata Glasc is expected to join League of Legends with Patch 12.4. The patch is currently expected to be released in mid-February.
However, it is already known what kind of champ you can expect as a successor to Zeri. Riot has introduced Renata Glasc with an extensive backstory and her abilities.
Renata Glasc uses Friendly Fire to eliminate confused opponents

- Passive – Leverage
- Renata’s basic attacks mark enemies and deal bonus damage. If allies attack marked enemies, they receive the additional damage, but the mark disappears.
- Q – Handshake
- Renata’s robotic arm fires a projectile at her enemy. Upon reactivation, Renata can throw the opponent in the target direction, where enemies are hit and stunned if the enemy is a champion.
- W – Bailout
- Renata increases the attack and movement speed of an allied champ or herself. If your ally defeats an enemy during this time, the buff duration is reset. If your ally is defeated during the buff, their health is restored, but they start to burn to death over 3 seconds. If you defeat an enemy champ during this time, the burning stops.
- E – Loyalty Program
- Renata shoots Chemtech rockets that protect team members while simultaneously damaging and slowing down enemies.
- R – Hostile Takeover
- With the R ability, Renata fires a chemical cloud that puts enemies into “Berserk” mode. Their attack speed is increased, and they attack everything in the vicinity. In the following order: First, they attack their own allies, then neutral units, then Renata Glasc’s team, and finally Renata herself.
Especially with “Hostile Takeover”, Renata can cause a lot of confusion and damage among enemies who do not expect their allies to suddenly turn against them.
Character has a dark backstory
Who is Renata Glasc in the story? Earlier this year, Riot Games hinted at several champs for LoL, including a “dark support character” who is supposed to act as a malicious enchanter (via LeagueofLegends.com). She is meant to represent a counter-design to the normally more cheerful characters in the support area, a real “boss”, it was said back then.
This new figure turns out to be Renata Glasc. She is described as a character with a dark backstory: Her brilliant parents ran a small alchemy family business, caring for the poor and sick. Renata herself was driven more by a sense of business.
But the charity of her parents was repaid with a deadly attack from greedy clan leaders, which took away Renata’s parents and her legacy.
Renata, who had little regard for altruism, then turned to the chemistry business and built an empire that secretly thrived.
She presented herself as a charitable figure, but at the same time pursued the plan to supply all the residents of the area with materials from her Glasc works. What the customers did not know: that all products contained a secret compartment that could release a gas that would break their will and put them in the service of Renata Glasc.
