Today is finally the day, the final matches of the World Championship in League of Legends will take place at 12:00 PM in the Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin, which is sold out with 13,000 visitors. The teams SKTelecom T1 and Koo Tigers face each other. Watch the Worlds Final live stream here.
The two Korean teams have shown throughout this year’s World Championship that they have a lot to offer. The role distribution is clear and classic: SKT 1 is considered the “old veterans”; the Koo Tigers take on the role of “underdogs” in the LoL Worlds Final.
The Final Opponents Know Each Other
Both teams were already present in the same tournament during the LCK Summer Split 2015. SKT 1 achieved 1st place there and Koo Tigers 4th place. Whether the team around the famous player “Faker”, known for his cool-headed playstyle and his wide champion variety, will finish this tournament as winners again is questionable.
The Koo Tigers were the ones who eliminated the EU-favorite team “Fnatic” 3:0 from the tournament. The Fnatic team was considered the EU favorite as they remained undefeated in the EU-LCS Summer 2015 and thus entered the LoL World Championship with a perfect match history.
Experts Believe in a Victory for SKT 1
In the Worlds Teaser Video many experts say that SKT 1 will win, but they won’t have it “easy”. It is said that Koo Tigers is a worthy opponent for SKT 1, so the “Best of five” final will not end 3:0, but at least with one lost game for SKT.
On Reddit, the Koo Tigers are compared to the “Mighty Ducks”. “A group of underdogs who made it to the World Championship through the strength of their friendship”.
We do not know who will take home the trophy and the prize money of $1,000,000 from the LoL Worlds. However, it is clear that the final has great potential to be exciting.
What do you think? Do you agree with the “experts” and say that SKT 1 will win? Or are you for the “Mighty Ducks 2.0”? Enjoy the live stream of the LoL Worlds 2015 from Berlin.
