The 29-year-old Andy “Reginald” Dinh is the head of Team SoloMid, the largest and most important team of League of Legends in the USA. Now Riot Games says they are conducting an independent investigation against him. The head of TSM is accused of having abused employees and LoL players.
Who is Reginald?
- Andy “Reginald” Dinh founded a website for League of Legends called “SoloMid.net” in 2009 – at that time, he was still playing LoL himself in the mid lane. However, he quickly transitioned from player to management role and founded his own esports organization, Team SoloMid.
- In the following years, he built “Team SoloMid” into one of the largest esports organizations in the world. TSM has won the LCS 7 times and has had stars like Darius, Doublelift, and Bjergsen under contract over the years. After a deal with a crypto exchange worth hundreds of millions of US dollars, TSM seemed to be well positioned for the next 10 years.
- However, in recent months, TSM has been struggling significantly: many big names have left the organization, including club icon Bjergsen, Twitch streamer Myth, and manager Leena Xu. The LoL legend Doublelift fired Reginald himself.
This is now the announcement: As reported by the magazine “WIRED”, Riot Games has commissioned an investigation against Reginald. In a statement from Riot Games, it is stated:
We are aware of the allegations made against the CEO/owner of TSM. As the league operator, we have engaged the law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP to conduct an independent investigation into the allegations of misconduct against the head of the team […]

“Passionate Owner” or “Schoolyard Bully”?
What are the allegations? The allegations center mainly around the player and streamer “Doublelift”, who said that Reginald is a “bully,” a kind of “schoolyard thug” who repeatedly belittled his players to the point that they began to cry.
Doublelift says Reginald is like a schoolyard bully who gets away with being a bad guy because he is so powerful that people are afraid to stand up to him.
As evidence, clips from various professionals in the past were cited showing Reginald in action (via Youtube).
However, players who were featured in these clips have already defended Reginald, stating that he always wants what is best for his team. He is indeed a “passionate owner.”
These are new accusations: WIRED now says they spoke with four individuals who experienced incidents in which Reginald allegedly “verbally abused” players and staff:
- He is said to have called employees “stupid” and “worthless.”
- He also allegedly called them after work to yell at them.
- Sometimes Reginald would belittle people for hours. His tirades would be triggered by small mistakes.
- Furthermore, Reginald is said to have yelled at employees in front of assembled teams to set an “example.” He was apparently proud of this, according to a former TSM employee, according to Wired.
