With the start of the Worlds on September 29, 2022, the end of the 12th Season of League of Legends is approaching. We listened to the officials from Riot Games about the next Season. They plan changes in the Jungle, and you can choose one of three different pets to stroll through the Rift with.
The Jungle is being revised again:
- Pretty much every season, changes are made to the Jungle role and in the Jungle.
- Last time Riot Games dedicated significantly to the Jungle was in Season 11.
- Jungle adjustments affect the entire map and influence the player experience, as the role can often be the most influential in the Rift.
Here you have a video of Bel’Veth, a jungler recommendation for the preseason 13:
The Jungle becomes more beginner-friendly
What are these new pets? In the roundtable, the developers introduced that traditional Jungle items are being replaced by pets. These pets evolve throughout the game by treats.
You can obtain treats by defeating enemy champions and jungle monsters – or your pets grow over time. Once your pets have grown larger, you receive upgrades for your champion.
Just a heads up: There are 3 different types of pets:
- The Salamander: According to preliminary information, it will be a green pet that provides enhancements for defensive stats. Additionally, it grants a shield and bonus tenacity.
- The Fox: The blue fox grants you more stats for mobility. It increases your movement speed and provides more utility in general. More detailed information will be available here should we hear more.
- The Cat: This is the aggressive option among pets. It provides additional damage and slows down opponents.
What does ‘beginner-friendly’ mean? The focus of the new season is aimed at making it easier for new players to enter the role. However, Riot does not want to reduce the complexity that comes with the Jungle when one is genuinely knowledgeable about the role.
There will be changes to the aggro levels of the monsters. This is intended to clearly indicate when you lose the aggro of the monsters. Monsters will lose their aggro faster the farther they are from their camp, making it less easy in preseason to defeat two camps simultaneously.
In addition to the aggro level of the monsters, recommendations will be displayed in the game. The developers stated that they analyzed many different games from pros and higher-ranked players to offer you the best options.
Alongside recommendations for the jungle route, recommendations for items and runes will also be displayed. This option should particularly excite new players for the role, who have never been in the jungle before or want to find their way back in.
Additional adjustments affecting the Jungle: In addition to the easier entry, there will be new items that could influence your champion selection. New mythic items will be added, while for example, the Sunfire Aegis becomes a legendary item.
Basically, the changes to the items can be summarized for the tank role. The new mythic items will provide you with options to endure more while being more effective in engaging in combat.
This way, you as a tank will no longer just be a champion standing in front and taking damage, but can actively help your team. On the other hand, there will be items that will make you into absolute front shields. So dive into the fray and fight with all your might.
What do you think of the changes? Will you try the role and which pet do you find most suitable for your champion?
