Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, the jungler of the European LoL team G2 Esports, has been surprisingly banned on the streaming platform Twitch. He jokes that he will return “purified.”
What exactly happened? Jankos stated that he was banned on Twitch for 24 hours. He did not specify a reason for it. The ban is unusual because the LoL professional is generally considered a pleasant streamer and is not involved in any scandals.
The duration of 24 hours suggests that he has violated the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, albeit not to a significant extent.
It is speculated that he may have played music that is copyrighted. This is currently a red flag on Twitch, which is being pressured by the music industry to take action and has led streamers to delete old highlights and clips out of fear of a ban.
Another reason could be a video that Jankos watched during the stream, which might have shown something suggestive that led to the ban.
How does the LoL player react to the ban? Jankos himself seems to take the 24-hour ban in stride.
On Twitter, he informed his fans that he would be live again on Thursday. There, they should be able to see the “purified” Jankos.
With that, the LoL professional indicates that streamers often claim it was a slip-up after more serious offenses and that they would improve in the future.
LoL professional known for funny streams and helpful tips
What does Jankos show in the streams? The jungler of G2 Esports is considered an entertaining and helpful streamer. He often discusses the meta in LoL and explains what beginners should pay attention to.
Jankos also has helpful tips up his sleeve:
- In May 2020, he explained how to best deal with tilt. This refers to the frustration of wanting to slam the table or destroy one’s keyboard.
- He also occasionally complains about new champions, such as in November 2020 about Samira, whom he criticized as “so OP”.
How active is Jankos? Despite the ongoing league matches in the LEC, Jankos is active on Twitch several times a week. According to the Sullygnome website, he was online eight times in February, always in League of Legends.
In terms of viewers, he averaged 11,200 concurrent viewers, peaking at over 21,000. This allowed him to just make it into the top 200 on Twitch.
