Recently, the jungler from Team Herectics, Marcin Jankos
Jankowski, took a look at Patch 14.6 of League of Legends in a stream. He used some moments to rant about why ADC items are receiving buffs.
Who is Jankos?
- He is a professional Polish LoL player and is known to be one of the best junglers in the European LoL scene.
- Jankos played for G2 Esports in 2018, one of the most successful teams in Europe.
- With G2, he managed to win several LEC titles. In 2019, the team reached the final of the LoL Worlds, the most important tournament in League of Legends.
- In 2022, Jankos transitioned to the Spanish team Heretics along with Perkz and Wunder. However, Perkz has now been replaced by an experienced rookie from the Academy team.
What does the professional jungler say? Jankos is surprised by Riot’s decision to buff ADC items. According to Jankos, ADC players are the biggest crybabies
who complain the loudest on Reddit about their role to receive buffs from Riot Games in the next patches.
Because they believe that ADCs are in a poor state. He emphasizes that he hasn’t seen a post on Reddit complaining about the jungle – even though the jungle is nerfed every season.
Here you can watch Jankos’ clip from his Twitch stream (timestamp 02:14):
What changes are being made to ADC items? With Patch 14.6, buffs to the following ADC items are planned so that ADCs can deal more damage:
Infinity Edge
: The additional critical damage has been increased from 40 to 50 percent.Mortal Reminder
: Armor penetration increased from 30 to 35 percent.Navori Quickblades
: Attack damage increased from 60 to 65. You now need a BF Sword instead of a Pickaxe to build Quickblades.
The lead gameplay designer of LoL, Matt Leung-Harrison, has commented on the changes to ADC items, stating on X:
In the recent discussions, there has been a lot of talk about the state of ADCs. However, the strong position of supports prevents us from buffing them heavily and reverting to a bot meta. Items with crit are receiving some improvements to be more competitive compared to On-Hit and Lethality. We remain committed to enhancing satisfaction with the role in regular play without significantly increasing strength in the hands of coordinated teams.

The patch is expected to go live on Wednesday, March 20. In addition to buffs to ADC items, Smolder and Senna will be heavily nerfed, and support items will also receive several nerfs.
What do ADC mains say? The clip from Jankos is circulating on Reddit, including in the Subreddit of ADC mains. Players give various opinions on Jankos’ views.
Some criticize Jankos for viewing the ADC role from his own perspective as a professional and not fully considering the difficulties that ADCs face in the current meta. W1ndwardFormation writes: He clearly sees ADC from the perspective of a pro player, which is understandable, but he ignores the role as a whole.
There are also comments that highlight the frustration of ADC players regarding the role and the associated problems, such as the reliance on supports because many are weak in the early game and can easily be taken down by other champions in a single hit.
Other players argue that Jankos may not understand the challenges that ADCs face in solo queue, especially regarding the lack of influence and control they have in the early minutes of the game.
