The community of League of Legends has discovered a hidden interaction with a rune that allows you to see over certain walls without placing a ward. This can be a significant advantage in some situations. It is currently unclear when and if Riot will fix this trick.
How does the trick work exactly? For this trick, you need the rune Summon Aery. This rune sends a fairy to the target you attack with attacks or spells. It deals damage to enemies and provides a shield to allies.
The rune is commonly used by some supports, such as Yuumi or Soraka.
When you use the recall, the fairy might move away from you, revealing part of the map. At certain walls, this allows you to have complete vision of potential attackers.

The trick is especially strong at three locations
How does the trick work exactly? The fairy appears at an angle of about 120 degrees to your own vision. So you need to stand at the right wall and also look in the right direction.
Then you briefly activate the back-teleport and cancel it. This way you can see over some walls without using a ward.
Where does Aery’s reveal work best? The best location is already shown by the YouTuber in his thumbnail. It is located in the lower part of the map near the dragon and reveals almost a third of the river without placing a ward.
There are also two strong spots that the YouTuber does not show:
- One is directly in the midlane in the river towards Baron. If you teleport back near the upper wall by the bush, you can also look over the wall and survey the entire triangle of the red jungle.
- You can overlook part of the dragon pit if you are standing at the upper edge coming from the blue jungle.
Additionally, you can also look into bushes nearby, which is also a significant advantage for revealing people.
Is the trick legal? The interaction from Riot Games is certainly not intended and has not been part of the game from the beginning. It appears to have slipped in with one of the last updates. However, it is highly unlikely that you will be banned for it:
- Recently, there was a bug with the champion Rek’Sai that could kill enemies with a single attack. Those who exploited it were not banned, although the exploit was much larger and more obvious.
- When it came to the champion Bard, Riot reacted quickly to a bug and disabled the champion in all modes.
The rune Summon Aery is still active, although news about the bug has been circulating for several days. However, it is possible that the upcoming patch 12.9, which is released on Wednesday, already contains a fix.
