Those who reach the highest ranks in the leaderboard in League of Legends quickly become some of the best players in the world. The Brazilian streamer Nicklink calls himself the “God of SoloQ” and has set the challenge to climb from Unranked to Master tier in a single gaming session. Only the top 0.5% of players land there. And he has succeeded.
How did this challenge go?
- Nicklink started the adventure on March 11th, celebrating his birthday at the same time. He needed 60 hours and 31 minutes to reach the Master tier.
- He played those 60 hours straight, without sleeping or going outside. Only a few breaks for food and the bathroom were included.
- He played a total of 90 matches in SoloQ, winning 78% of them. He played 75 games with his favorite champion Jax. Otherwise, he was only active on the top lane, using champions like Fiora, Tryndamere, or Irelia (via op.gg).
The streamer shared his success on Twitter and received over 30,000 likes for it.
It was not the first time he took on this challenge
What does the streamer say about his success? Nicklink shared live on stream that this challenge was not easy to master. He had already attempted this task once or twice before but gave up each time after about 30 hours of gameplay.
All the more, the streamer is happy about his success. However, some of his viewers expressed concerns as he played and streamed for so long without sleeping.
Nicklink himself admitted that this challenge was not the best for his body. However, after the session, he promised to go to sleep right away.
You can watch his final victory in this clip:
How many players reach the Master tier? This varies by region. Currently, 0.33% of players in Brazil are in the Master tier, 0.06% in GrandMaster, and 0.02% in Challenger tier. Thus, Nicklink belongs to the top 0.41% of players in Brazil.
When all regions are combined, Master players are among the top 0.26% in the world.
With this account, Nicklink is now among them. However, he has already brought his main account to the Challenger tier.
Tyler1 reaches Challenger with every position
What other crazy challenges exist in LoL? In addition to Nicklink, dozens of other players have also taken on special challenges.
The famous streamer Tyler1, for example, reached Challenger rank on all five positions, which only about 0.018% achieve with an account. For this achievement, he was even honored by the developers themselves. Many pros respect him for this feat since they are usually only really good at one or two positions.
The Swede Carl Felix “MagiFelix” Boström is also another phenomenon. He has also achieved Challenger with all five roles. He is now set to be a substitute for several positions on the team Misfits:
