On the test server from Moba League of Legends (LoL), the nerf hammer swings while buffing other areas simultaneously.
After the last major changes in patch 6.4, fine-tuning follows now. Additionally, champions like Talon, who are currently played in many matches, are being examined more closely. The popular jungle item enchantment “Devourer” will also be adjusted.
It should be noted that these are changes on the PBE server – meaning these changes are not 100 percent confirmed and will not necessarily come to League of Legends.
Champions:
Kog’Maw: Attack speed per level increased to 3.5%. On the live servers of LoL, this value is currently at 1.5%. This increase is related to the removal of the passive attack speed of his ability Bioarcane Barrage (W) on the test servers. His ultimate ability is also currently being adjusted, so that Living Artillery (R) now deals damage in relation to the opponent’s current health.
Soraka: Soraka’sStarcall (Q) will receive new functionality. For example, it will no longer restore health immediately when it hits someone with this ability, but will receive a HoT (Heal over time), presumably “Renewal”, that gradually restores health and scales with AP. Additionally, she gains 15% movement speed when hitting an opponent with Q and she does not run towards an enemy.
The benefits of this new Starcall can now be transferred to allies when they are healed with her Astral Infusion (W) while Soraka is under the effect of “Renewal”. The duration of this buff depends on how many points Soraka has invested in Starcall.
Talon: Shadow Assault (R) is probably the first ability that comes to mind when thinking about a nerf for Talon. The developers thought the same, and so the cooldown was increased from 75/65/55 seconds to 100/80/60 seconds.
Talon is so strong that LoL must intervene
RiotMeddler responded to a player’s post in the official forum questioning these changes to explain what lies behind these nerfs.
“We believe that assassins fit best into the game when a large part of their burst damage is behind a high cooldown… … Talon is not the only assassin champion that needs to be adjusted in this area.”
“We find that Talon is too strong. He has always been quite good in ranked games, but was rarely played, which is why we could wait with the nerfs. Now, however, he is so strong that we have to do something about it.”
“In the long run, we want to change Talon even more fundamentally. If there is a general assassin update in League of Legends, Talon is one of the most likely champions to be significantly changed. His ability kit offers many options that unfortunately currently only trigger standard things.”
Items changing on the LoL test server
Enchantment: Devourer: One of the most popular enchantments for jungle items currently available in LoL. Champions like Master Yi or Warwick are particularly favored to be played with this enchantment. To adjust this item, the additional magic damage per hit has been reduced from 30 to 25. Additionally, the stacks required for the item to transform have been increased from 30 to 35.
This means your junglers will now farm “AFK” in the jungle for an even longer time, until they suddenly emerge from the river right at 18 minutes and 13 seconds to show you with a double kill that they are still participating in the game.
Guardian Angel: To make this item as attractive as it once was, there is now an attempt to reduce the cost and adjust the health restoration. The cost has been reduced from 2900 gold to 2700 gold. If the resurrection is triggered, it now restores not just 30% of maximum health, but either 700 health points or 30% of maximum health, depending on which value is higher.
