Who is Heimerdinger? Although not among the first 20 champions in the game, he was added as a new champion in October of his release year 2009. Shaco was added alongside him.
In the first season of Arcane, a brilliant professor is introduced with Heimerdinger in Piltover. He appears to be a small anthropomorphic creature. However, behind this small appearance lies a great deal, as Heimerdinger is a gifted engineer and scientist who is over 300 years old.
Throughout the story, he encounters many well-known characters whom he tries to assist with both action and advice. Despite his brilliant mind, he is always keen on the safety and ethics behind science. Unlike his former colleague Singed.

Heimerdinger comes from another world
Where does Heimerdinger come from? Although he enjoys a good reputation in Piltover, Heimerdinger does not actually hail from the city. He is a Yordle and comes from the city of Bandle City. Yordles are most comparable to elves, and their city is not easy to find. It is situated on a plain away from the worldly realm.
Yordles are also considered immortal, which is why they age significantly slower. This explains why Heimerdinger is already over 300 years old.
However, the scientist conceals his origin, as Yordles are hunted and feared throughout Runeterra.
Despite his connection to the spiritual world, Heimerdinger is a brilliant engineer who works as a scholar and professor for the futuristic city of Piltover. However, he is always cautious. As seen in Arcane, he is very concerned about the safety of inventions. Nevertheless, he has also collaborated on military weapons for Piltover.
Due to his relentless thirst for knowledge, there was a time when he also worked with the scientist Singed. However, their collaboration fell apart due to Singed’s unethical methods and views. His work with Hextech also significantly differs from Singed’s alchemical work.
His most famous invention is known to every LoL player: His turret towers.
Heimerdinger in Arcane Season 2
What does Heimerdinger do after the first season? In Season 1 of Arcane, a conflict arises between Jayce and Heimerdinger because Jayce is working on an experimental Hex core. However, Heimerdinger opposes this because it is not safe enough.
Jayce, who at the time harbors a grudge against Zhaun, manages to politically influence Heimerdinger’s removal from the council of Piltover to further his plans against Zhaun.
Heimerdinger cannot bear this and flees to Zhaun to offer his assistance to the needy citizens. There he meets Ekko, with whom he wants to work on his inventions.
In Season 2, we therefore do not have to say goodbye to Heimerdinger. It can be assumed that he will collaborate with Ekko to help the impoverished people in Zhaun.
