In the MOBA League of Legends (LoL), developer Riot will next rework the wizards.
After the recent rework of the marksmen was a complete success, developer RiotGames is already planning further improvements to the game League of Legends.
Gradually, they want to take on the different roles that can be played in LoL and make them more current. As “RiotMeddler” has now confirmed, the role of wizards will be the next to receive an update.
Help for the slow-footed wizards in LoL is coming
“Especially the champions who are not very mobile are to be reworked,” it says in the forum post.
This will certainly please some players. In the current LoL meta, especially mobile champions are favored, making it difficult for our slow-footed wizard friends.
Brand is a good example here.
- He is very strong (especially with the new masteries he has received a small boost)
- Has a stun
- Has various combinations through abilities
- Is very strong in team fights
Perhaps something could be done about the combinations of abilities to give him a bit more mobility.
Other wizards, such as Malzahar or Anivia, have fundamentally very strong abilities, but often are only playable in rare situations due to a lack of mobility.
Fortunately, Riot also sees this problem and wants to do something about it.
When will the wizard update for LoL come?
The wizard update will take some time, as the highest priority according to Meddler is currently the “Preseason” and the “Winter Joy Event,” during which you can get free skins.
The first changes to wizards are planned for February or March 2016 on the PBE servers. However, this is not a fixed date to rely on. It all depends on whether they start with just a few champions that they update or a whole bunch, like with the marksmen changes. If it’s more champions at once, this update will be pushed further back.
What will happen to the AP items?
The items with ability power will also be improved/updated as part of the wizard update.
However, this will not be as big a change as with the items for the marksmen. This is because the AP items, especially after Patch 5.13, have a much better standing than the marksmen items before their update.
