In League of Legends the new champion Aphelios has been teased. Through his biography we know his role and the backstory of the character.
What do we know about Aphelios? The new champion will be a marksman or AD-carry, depending on which term you prefer. He is referred to as the “Weapon of the Lunari” and belongs to the same people as Diana and Zoe.
Aphelios will be the devoted shooter who was announced in a dev blog along with three other champions. It states that Aphelios can switch his weapons “like the cycles of the moon”.
Developer Reav3 had already announced beforehand that Aphelios would be very difficult to master. He confirmed this again on reddit with a short statement: “Mastering the champ requires an almost fanatical belief,” which also hints at the Lunari cult.
When does Aphelios appear? The new marksman has not yet appeared on the test server. However, in a few days, update 9.24 will be rolled out. It is possible that Aphelios is already included.
This would mean that Riot Games would quickly release a new champion. Senna, the new support, was only released with patch 9.22 about two weeks ago.

What do we know about the background of the champ? Aphelios has a twin sister, Alune. They were born together on a special night. He was particularly physically strong, she had special magical abilities.

Only now did the two become aware of the full extent of their fate. Aphelios had to transform his body through pain into an empty shell to let the power of the moon take hold of him. Alune had to remain lonely and isolated in her fortress, but she could see through her brother’s eyes and guide him.
Together they were the weapon that the Lunari needed, bound by sacrifice and pain. Only separated could they be together, while their souls brushed against the veil. So far and yet so impossibly close, they formed a unity that they did not understand.
What impact this connection has on playing the champion is not yet known.
