League of Legends (LoL) has the new champion Senna in the lineup. We show you the skills and how the new heroine is received in the LoL community.
Who is Senna? Senna was once the wife of Lucian. The couple possessed twin relic weapons with which they fought evil in the world of League of Legends.
Through a trick, Thresh managed to trap Senna’s soul in his lantern. In a trailer, Riot Games showed why the champion is now available in the game. Lucian destroys Thresh’s lantern and Senna frees herself from the clutches of the Chain Warden.
Senna is the first support marksman in LoL.
Skills of Senna – What are her abilities?
In a spotlight video, Riot Games showcased Senna’s abilities. Here’s how the new champion works:
- Passive – Absolution
- With the black mist, Senna captures souls from units that die near her. By using them, she increases her attack damage, her range, and her critical hit chance.
- Senna’s cannon shoots slower, but deals extra damage and grants her a portion of her target’s movement speed.
- Q – Piercing Darkness
- Senna shoots a beam from her cannon that heals her and allies and deals damage to enemies.
- Normal attacks reduce the cooldown of the ability.
- W – Last Embrace
- Senna sends out a wave of black mist. Enemies hit are ensnared and held after a short delay. The first enemy hit takes damage.
- E – Curse of the Black Mist
- Senna shapes a storm out of the mist in her weapon. In it, she becomes a spirit. Allies are camouflaged in it and also become spirits.
- Spirits gain additional movement speed, cannot be targeted, and conceal their identity.
- R – Shadow’s Embrace
- Senna fires a beam of light with global range that shields allies. Enemies in the center take damage.

What does the community say about Senna?
Too strong in ARAM? After initial tests, players are speaking out on social media. A user on Reddit writes that Senna would be way too overpowered in ARAM. One of the problems would likely be that she collects stacks of her passive ability particularly quickly in ARAM.
A user writes on Reddit: “She has a win rate of 63.09% in ARAM, that’s really broken.”
Another one writes: “Before everyone complains that Senna is fundamentally broken. Riot gave her doubled stacking of her passive ability in ARAM. That’s the reason why she’s so insane there.”
Apart from ARAM, it is difficult to form a concrete opinion about Senna’s skills. Players apparently do not want to commit yet to how strong Senna is in LoL. One writes on Reddit “After one day, you can’t really have an opinion yet. Think of Aatrox. Everyone thought he was the worst champion ever. Then people figured out how to play him and suddenly he was broken.”
Elsewhere, a Reddit user writes: “The passive is pretty crazy, but I don’t think she’s too strong. It’s just that players currently don’t know how the champion works and how to play against her. Exactly the opposite of what happened when Yuumi was released. […]”
