In League of Legends (LoL) a new champion has been introduced: Illaoi. What can she do?
Finally, the time has come. The last champion that Riot Games wanted to introduce this year for League of Legends has now been revealed.
“Illaoi” (pronounced in English “ill-OW-ee”) is a solo laner, supported by tentacles. Yes, that’s right – tentacles!
The abilities of Illaoi
Passive “Prophetess of an ancient god”
Her passive ability allows tentacles to appear on a nearby wall after a certain period of time. These tentacles interact with Illaoi’s abilities and last for 1 minute or until they are destroyed.
Q Ability: “Tentacle Smash”
- Passive: Tentacles that hit an enemy heal Illaoi for a small amount of her missing health.
Active: Illaoi conjures a large tentacle that strikes in a target direction, dealing damage to all enemies hit.
W Ability: “Harsh Lesson”
Instead of attacking normally, Illaoi charges forward to execute the next auto-attack. This auto-attack deals additional damage. After Illaoi’s attack, all nearby tentacles also attack the target.
E Ability: “Test of Spirit”
Illaoi conjures a vine that moves in a target direction. If this vine hits an enemy champion, it captures their spirit and brings it back to Illaoi. This spirit can then be attacked by Illaoi and her allies. Damage that the spirit suffers is partially transferred to the now “spiritless” enemy champion.
If Illaoi and her allies manage to destroy the spirit or if the spiritless champion flees too far from their spirit, the enemy champion receives a strong slow. In addition to the slow, the enemy champion will also have tentacles appear that attack them and their allies dealing physical damage.
R Ability: “Leap of Faith”
Illaoi jumps into the air and then slams her idol into the ground. This damages all enemy champions standing nearby, summoning a tentacle for each enemy hit. The cooldown of her W ability “Harsh Lesson” is significantly reduced while “Leap of Faith” is active.
However, one should not be fooled by her strong abilities. It is particularly emphasized in the champion reveal that the first minutes on the lane with her can be tough, especially since she is quite slow. Tentacles that appear on the wall are also not mobile but remain in the position where they appear.
