In the League of Legends, player Lin “Lwx” Wein-Xiang (21) set a record for FunPlus Phoenix that no player had achieved before him. He remained without death in a world championship final. At the press conference, he stated that they hadn’t played that strong; G2 Esports was simply that weak.
What kind of record is that? The ADC of FunPlus Phoenix did not experience a single death in the LoL Worlds 2019 final. This has never been achieved by any other player in the history of League of Legends.
Lwx played flawless three games:
- In Match 1, he achieved 11 kills/0 deaths/5 kill participations on Sivir
- In Match 2, he got 8/0/6 on Kai’Sa
- In Match 3, he reached 2/0/3 on Xayah
Here you can see a triple kill from Lwx on Kai’Sa:
That’s why it’s so impressive: This masterpiece, not dying even once and that in the most important series of the year, has never been accomplished by any other player before Lwx.
Especially the ADC is considered a “glass cannon” in League of Legends, who can die if anything goes even slightly wrong.
Lwx’s performance shows the absolute dominance of FunPlus Phoenix in this series.
Hard statement after the victory
He said this after the match: When Lwx was asked for a comment during the victory celebration interview, he replied: “I don’t think we played very well; G2 just didn’t really deliver.”
You can sense from the audience’s reaction what kind of statement it was:
- Only when the Chinese understood it, parts of the audience cheered
- When the statement was then translated into English, a murmur went through the audience
The hit had landed. The final took place in Paris – many were on the side of the Europeans from G2 Esports.
Jungler Tian is the star of the series
Who was named MVP? Despite this performance, Lwx was not crowned the most valuable player of the series. This honor went to the jungler of FunPlus Phoenix, Tian. He was everywhere for his team and started the fights in which Lwx could then collect his numerous kills.
Overall, it was a one-sided series, the course of which many fans of G2 Esports surely envisioned differently.
