League of Legends professional player Perkz is taking a break, as he no longer enjoys the road to the big tournaments. His future in eSports is uncertain, but he does not seem to be completely disappearing from the scene.
Why is the professional quitting? The LoL professional Luka Perkz
Perković has not been seen recently, as he has been moved from the main roster to the bench. The main reason for this were his weaknesses in the Winter Split 2023.
After his absence, the professional now announces in a post on X his break, and his return remains uncertain.
In his statement, he writes that his focus was only on reaching the MSI or the Worlds, but this path no longer brought him joy. Now he wants to take a break for a few months. Whether he will return after that or even quit, he does not know yet himself.
10 Years in the Game
Who is the LoL professional Perkz anyway? The mid-laner Perkz is probably one of the greatest LoL professionals in Europe. His professional career began back in 2014 with GSI Gaming.
Throughout his career, he has already won 10 individual awards, most recently in 2021 as ‘NA 1st All Pro Team’. He has also won many titles within his teams. Furthermore, he is one of four players who have won titles in both the EU and NA.
He achieved his greatest title during his time with G2 when the team won the MSI in 2019. In addition, he was the fourth player to achieve 1,500 kills in the LEC, following other eSports greats like Rekkles, Jankos, and Caps (via lol.fandom).
Can you still follow Perkz in the future? However, the professional does not seem to be completely disappearing. In another post on X, he states that he plans to stream League of Legends and Valorant on his Twitch channel.
He mentions that he particularly enjoys learning something completely new in Valorant. However, the professional does not reveal how often he will stream.
