The 21-year-old Illias “nuc” Bizriken (21) had a black day on Saturday, February 17. He and his team BDS faced the Mad Lions in a knockout round of League of Legends and had a poor game. But it got worse afterward – as the defeat had a follow-up on Twitter.
What kind of match was it?
- On Saturday, the “Lower Bracket” final of the LEC playoffs was played. Whoever loses is out. Whoever wins plays against G2 for the championship.
- Team BDS was in a poor position: Their top laner Adam, an important player, was benched before the match started. He had gotten into a shouting match with his coach Strike and was benched due to persistent toxicity.
- But even without Adam, it became an exciting match.
Midlaner had a weak day
How did nuc perform? The midlaner for Team BDS, nuc, struggled to get into the match:
In the first games, he played Azir with a disappointing 0-2-1. Match 2 also went to Corki with 2-3-4 lost.
In Matches 3 and 4, Team BDS managed to turn things around and equalize to 2:2.
Match 5 was lost again. Here, the opposing midlaner excelled on Azir with 5-0-3, while Nuc remained rather pale on Corki with 2-2-1.
Nuc is provoked and loses control
What was the discussion after the match? On reddit, the discussion mainly focused on top laner Adam, who sulked and played solo-queue instead of watching his team.
What did nuc face? The midlaner “nuc” faced harsh criticism from e-sports commentator Thorin on Twitter.
He sarcastically congratulated him on Twitter for being the MVP of the series. Without him, the Mad Lions, his opponents, would not have won. Nuc had showcased his entire skill set.
This is how Nuc reacted: He flamed Thorin, calling him “the biggest dog in the business.” Thorin should “go f*ck himself” and also “suck his d*ck.”
Then Thorin said: He apparently achieved his goal and coolly countered: “I won’t advise you to f*ck yourself since you must be tired from f*cking over your own team so much.”
The German LoL expert Tolkin expects that the LEC will punish nuc:
What’s behind this: It’s nasty to be approached like this at the bitter moment, but German LoL expert Tolkin believes that nuc will receive a punishment from the LEC for this verbal outburst, as he, as a professional player, must adhere to codes of conduct that do not apply to Thorin.
Here, Riot Games sets high standards.
Who is Thorin? Thorin used to be a respectable commentator for LoL and CS:GO. In recent years, however, he has developed in a provocative direction.
