On Friday, May 10th, the teams G2 and T1 played against each other in League of Legends at MSI 2024: It was the biggest game of the year so far and was described as the series that every LoL fan must see. At its peak, 2.49 million viewers were watching. But such a big match now has an ugly aftermath: G2’s ADC, Hans Sama (24), is receiving death threats.
What kind of match was that? It was actually not a big deal. The match was the 1st round of MSI 2024. Nothing was decided there, the winner advanced to round 2, and the loser dropped into the loser’s bracket. But in the match, the most popular team in the world faced off against the most popular team in the West, which is why record viewership numbers were achieved:
- The world champion T1 with the legendary Faker and exceptional talents like Keria and Oner on one side
- The top European team G2 with midlaner Caps, the German Broken Blade, and botlaner Hans Sama on the other side

These are the ugly aftermaths of the game: The 24-year-old ADC of G2, Hans Sama, has now apparently been targeted by crazies on the internet as a scapegoat for G2’s loss. He is being subjected to death threats, it is said.
He is allegedly being blamed for poor play and for missing the wrong items. G2 manager Romain Begeard reported on the death threats in an interview (via x).
The good news is that these death threats are viewed very critically by fans. On reddit, they are described as “revolting”.
People openly ask who is so disgusting and awful to do something like this. To send such threats, one must have their own self-confidence in the cellar. To threaten someone just because their favorite team lost a best-of-5.
