The German Twitch streamer Frederik “Noway” Hinteregger (31) is the largest streamer in Germany for League of Legends. When he commented on a game in Montpellier, France, he was robbed on the street that same evening. Now the perpetrators have been caught, but the stolen goods remain missing.
Who is the streamer?
- Noway, also known as Noway4u or Noway4u_Sir, is a Twitch streamer and former professional League of Legends player. On Twitch, he is the largest German LoL streamer, even ranking worldwide in the last 7 days (via sullygnome).
- Noway is especially known for his friendly and nice demeanor, which often does not fit the toxic LoL vibe. He is considered a “sunny boy.”
- The streamer occasionally also works as a commentator. For example, he co-streamed the LEC 2023 finals together with Tolkin.
This is what happened to Noway: During the LEC stream on September 9, Noway talked about his career as a streamer so far. He shared highlights and explained that he had only “indulged” in 2 things with his money so far: an apartment and a Rolex worth 8,000 Euros.
The next day, the streamer shared on X/Twitter that he had been robbed. Two thieves held a gun to his head and demanded his watch. The gun turned out to be a replica, but the two men then beat him up and threatened him with a kitchen knife.
Only then did Noway give up his resistance and eventually hand over the watch. In retrospect, he says: that was pretty foolish, he should have handed over the watch right away.
French police catch the perpetrators: “Sent me mugshots”
As the French regional newspaper Midi Libre reports, the police have caught the perpetrators. The newspaper even mentions that the stolen goods are worth over 20,000 Euros. The perpetrators were arrested on the morning of September 21.
In a new YouTube video, Noway explains that the police sent him “mugshots”, meaning photos of various suspects. He says:
I was able to identify one of the two perpetrators. For the other, I said I was very unsure, I picked the wrong one. But the pictures looked very similar. […] The two perpetrators have been caught, probably during a repeat offense, and will likely spend a very long time behind bars. And that’s very, very good news.
What happened to the watch? As he states, he has not gotten the watch back. It is likely lost. The main thing, however, is that the two perpetrators have been caught.
