The German professional player Elias “Upset” Lipp (22) has set a record in League of Legends. He dies the least in the European league LEC – even historically speaking. This is also unusual because he plays a fragile role as ADC. But it has led his team Fnatic to perform well and statistically, he outshines all other professionals in the world.

What is special about it? In the statistics, two things can be seen:
On the one hand, Upset plays incredibly controlled and takes relatively few risks – ADCs are often labeled as hotheads who die because they become too greedy and miss a gank. In LoL, it is enough for an ADC to position themselves slightly incorrectly and they become fodder for the excessive damage that is currently going out. But that simply doesn’t happen to Upset.
On the other hand, half of the record surely belongs to his bot lane partner Hylissang, who has formed the core of Fnatic with Rekkles for years. However, Upset seems not to have been deterred by these huge footsteps but rather motivated.
Fnatic has completely built its team around Upset and his supporter in 2022, with all 3 other positions being newly filled.
Ironically, Upset is indirectly responsible for this: he had to leave his team at Worlds for family reasons, which led to a public breakup with top lane talent Adam, who then left Fnatic. Without Upset, Fnatic stood no chance at Worlds.
What are Upset’s chances in the playoffs? This year in the LEC, much is open because almost all teams have been restructured and are playing very inconsistently, with many new players and rookies in the lineup.
