The largest team in Europe in League of Legends is Fnatic. They even became world champions a few years ago. In 2021, they had a solid LoL team: With Adam, they could field one of the biggest talents in Europe, and with Bwipo, they presented a true leader. Apparently, both are gone now. It’s supposed to be “Wunder” from G2, who has been under criticism lately.
How 2021 went for Fnatic:
- 2021 was a strange year for Fnatic, as they lost 2 of their best players: The legendary ADC Rekkles went to competitor G2, and jungler Selfmade also disappeared. However, they managed to acquire ADC Upset and top laner Adam, two huge talents.
- After a weak start, Fnatic finally came together towards the end of the season, as they focused fully on the bot lane, the talent Adam flourished in the top lane, and the experienced top laner Bwipo performed much better in the jungle than anyone could have expected. Ultimately, the year ended with qualification for the Worlds, where things went horribly wrong and there was a lot of heartbreak.
- For 2022, Fnatic will be reshaping the team. They have to, as they will lose 3 key players, according to credible transfer rumors.
Who is leaving? For Fnatic, it’s particularly painful that they have to give up their “young talent” Adam after just a few games. The Frenchman is considered one of the greatest talents in European LoL, and he is now transferring to the new team BDS from Switzerland, who bought Schalke’s spot. This is a serious setback for Fnatic.
The deal is not yet official, but is considered almost certain. It is said that Fnatic and Team BDS have verbally agreed on a transfer (via upcomer). This sounds like Team BDS is investing in its future and immediately wants to play a strong role in the LEC.
Fnatic will also lose the leadership player Bwipo. Apparently, he is being drawn back to the top lane. It is said that he might end up in the USA with Team Liquid. He will be in good company: Allegedly, US superstar Bjergsen and ADC Hans Sama are also expected to land there (via dotesports).
Bwipo suffered greatly during the LoL Worlds 2021, as his girlfriend came under fire from fans: Some Fnatic supporters blamed her for the poor performance of their team.
It also seems like mid laner Nisqy will be leaving Team Fnatic. However, he seems to be unhappy with his situation. Allegedly, it was discussed that Nisqy would replace the Croatian Perkz at Cloud 9, but Fnatic wanted too much money for Nisqy and negotiations broke down. Now it could happen that Nisqy might be without a team in 2022 (via dotesports).

Who is Fnatic bringing in? Today it became known that Fnatic is apparently signing the top laner Wunder from G2 (via dotesports). He has been considered the leading top laner in Europe for years, although his love for WoW has often gotten in the way.
Sources say: Wunder is even a bargain, as instead of €2 million, which was originally demanded for him, Fnatic apparently got him for €600,000. The figures come from sources on the Dotesports website.
It is rare for G2 to give a player to Fnatic. Recently, it was revealed that they even had a clause in the contract of player Perkz that he could not be sold to Fnatic. Not even for years after he had left G2.
Recently, fans expressed criticism of Wunder, claiming he does not take LoL seriously anymore and often trolls in scrims. However, Wunder seems to find the criticism unfair:
