The popular LoL (League of Legends) streamer Imaqtpie received a nasty message from developer Riot Games on Twitch after losing a game. “I think Riot is trying to tell me something,” the streamer explains.
Who is it about? The streamer Michael “Imaqtpie” Santana is one of the biggest LoL streamers on Twitch. He was previously a pro player in teams like Dignitas, and today he makes a living solely from streaming.
He prefers to stream League of Legends, occasionally also Apex Legends. In LoL, his main role is that of ADC (AD-Carry) in the bot lane.
What happened in the stream? During a LoL stream on April 1st, Santana played a supporter instead of his usual ADC role. This is not unusual, as the streamer often tries different champions on other lanes. However, he chose Sona in the bot lane in an aggressive role, not as a supporter.
With Sona, Imaqtpie tried to “carry” the game, meaning to take the win on his shoulders.
However, the plan failed and his team lost heavily with 7 to 23 kills. Santana had stats of 0/7/0 with Sona and his bot lane partner Taric had 0/5/1.
After the game, the streamer received a survey from Riot Games in the LoL client. They regularly ask for feedback there.
But this specific question was explicitly directed at Imaqtpie to annoy him in line with April 1st. Surprised, he sees the survey that states:
“Please rate what applies: Rinse ADC streamers shouldn’t play support during the stream”
- I completely disagree
- I disagree
- I neither agree nor disagree
- I agree
- I completely agree”
How did Qtpie react? Initially surprised by the survey, he quickly laughed and read the survey aloud to his viewers.
He then chose the “I completely disagree” rating and said “I think [Riot] is trying to tell me something …”
Then he looks at the statistics from the last game and sees that he dealt the most damage in his team. “… but my damage tells me something different,” he adds.
Riot also trolled Tyler1: The streamer Tyler1 was also surprised by Riot with a survey on April 1st. Riot asked him which of his cats he liked best and why.
Tyler1 thought for a moment, asked for advice. In the end, he wrote: “I love them all because they mean so much to me and make me happy in difficult times :)”
In the end, he even got revenge for the joke on Riot and wrote, clearly for his viewers, “Fuck you Riot mother fuckers” and submitted the response.
Tyler1 was long considered the biggest troll in League of Legends, and was even banned from LoL indefinitely. His ban has since been lifted, and he is back to playing the MOBA regularly.
