Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4 & Xbox One) does not yet have an established eSports scene, but that doesn’t stop outstanding teams from forming rosters. The exceptionally successful eSports team TSM in the MOBA LoL has now assembled 4 top players for Fortnite: Battle Royale: a real killer squad.
Fortnite: Battle Royale revolves around wild battles between players or teams. The goal is to eliminate all other competitors. Every day, countless gamers stream their matches, attracting even more fans in front of screens.
The great success of Fortnite has now also brought eSports teams into the mix.
Top LoL Team Now Also Has a Fortnite Division
To represent in Fortnite, the eSports team TSM (Team SoloMid) has signed players Ali “Myth” Kabbani, Darryle “Hamlinz” Hamlin, “CaMills”, and “Daequan”. Each of them has a massive fanbase. Hamlinz is even currently ranked 2nd on the solo leaderboard.
Most of the four Fortnite players have a background in other battle royale shooters like PUBG or H1Z1. The only one TSM does not say “He has spent hundreds of hours in H1Z1 or PUBG” is Myth. However, he is considered an exceptional builder in Fortnite. With the building feature, Fortnite sets itself apart from the battle royale competition.
The four top gamers are all extremely skilled. In a video compilation, you can see how they wipe out entire teams solo with shotguns and pistols. Riding rockets to eliminate everything or making a precise kill with the rocket launcher from absurd distances.
One of the Best Western eSports Teams
With such pros, TSM should be well represented in Fortnite. The renowned eSports team also has its own divisions in Hearthstone, the mobile MOBA Vainglory, PUBG, and Super Smash Bros.
TSM is particularly famous in League of Legends. There, they are considered the strongest and most well-known team from the West in a sport dominated by South Koreans. Of the 10 North American championships in LoL held so far, they have won an impressive 6.
Will Fortnite Really Be a Good eSports Title?
So far, there is no established eSports scene in Fortnite. Some players and experts believe that massive battle royale games like Fortnite or PUBG are not suitable for competitive play. There is simply too much randomness involved.
Even the best player in the world couldn’t do much if he lands with only a pickaxe due to bad loot luck and a noob blows his head off with an epic shotgun.
However, should there be an establishment of eSports for Fortnite, TSM already has a top team in place.
