The developers of League of Legends are planning a change to the minions. The minions in League of Legends have not been changed in 14 years.
League of Legends is not a game that holds back with the release of new champions or balancing patches. Yet the popular MOBA from Riot Games has an area that the developers have not fundamentally changed in 14 years: the minions.
What field is LoL planning the change for? In a blog post on the official website of League of Legends, Riot Games spoke about a change to the minions that would radically change the MOBA (via leagueoflegends.com).
What kind of change is this? Riot Games is planning some sort of separation of the minions on the lanes.
The developers “Riot Axes” and “Riot Phroxzon” talked in the blog post about the “ADCs” and the “Fighters” as well as the changes both champion types received recently. The team now thinks that the two classes are in a relatively stable state, but future refinements will be necessary.
One way to refine the two classes is a “significant change to the structure of the mythical item system for both item systems.” Another possibility that Riot Games is currently exploring but does not want to promise is to differentiate the minions on the lane.
[…] One of the options we are considering for the preseason is creating a better way to align roles against each other – for example, differentiating the minions in each lane.

The differentiation of minions on the lanes is not the only major announcement that fans of League of Legends can look forward to. A legendary director has announced that he is working on a live-action series about the esports of LoL. The series will involve real actors and have 40 episodes, each 45 minutes long.
