In League of Legends, Brand is currently a classic poke support. Many find it annoying to play against him, but in the current meta, he is quite solid. Not too strong, but also not too weak. Currently, buffs are available for him on the test server that will make him a true jungle monster.
What buffs does Brand get on the live server?
- Base attack speed from 0.625 to 0.681
- Attack speed growth from 1.36% to 2%
- The passive dot damage to monsters increases from 120% to 360%
His passive burns every enemy hit by his abilities for 4 seconds with magical damage. With the buffs against jungle monsters, he cleans the jungle incredibly quickly and has an extremely high speed in the early game.
Bugs have also made life difficult for jungle players:
LoL players are frustrated after the patch: Junglers receive less XP than usual
On Twitter, user Shapeshift posted his full clear with Brand in the jungle. He manages it in 2:56 minutes. Especially his AOE clear through the combination of his W and passive makes him so fast. Once he reaches level 3 and can activate the explosion of his passive ability, his clear is optimized.
Thus, he is almost as fast as his mage colleague Karthus with 2:55 minutes. You can see the whole clip here:
Although Brand is not as mobile as other junglers and only has his stun through the Q as a good gank option, a very good clear could still make him very effective in the jungle, as he has level and gold advantages. Moreover, he is also always useful in team fights due to his ultimate.
But whether or how these buffs ultimately come to the live server remains to be seen. The next patch is expected to be released on October 25, 2023.
In the past, Riot has experimented with making unusual champions jungle viable. Recently, Gwen received such buffs, but Darius has also received similar buffs for his bleeds.
Over the course of a meta, the roles of various champions tend to change as well. This is the case with these junglers: LoL: 2 champions are actually junglers but currently dominate a completely different role
