A new champion might be coming for League of Legends (LoL) that has to do with lions and wolves. Or are they skins? A new game mode?
The German Twitter account of League of Legends is causing a lot of speculation in the community with its recent tweet. An image shows a lion and wolves somehow united as a kind of weapon. Along with text indicating that two powers are colliding. Now the question is whether Riot wants to present a new champion or is planning other new content for League of Legends.
The Lion Tweet from League of Legends
By now, League of Legends is known for dropping teasers before the official presentation of new content. Then, LoL’s Facebook pages have a teaser image before anyone else and fans start to speculate. Hours or even days later, Riot then reveals what the teaser meant.
In this tweet, League of Legends Germany introduces the new theme for speculation. “Two powers collide: The lion wants to reign forever. The wolf hungers for endless war,” it says. A date is also included – June 27, 2018.
In the image, we recognize a shiny lion’s head along with two heads of wolves. The three heads are combined at the bottom with a kind of blade.
How the players speculate:
- A new champion? Sure, Riot Games could introduce a new hero for LoL. But just recently Pyke was released – so it would be quite early for a new hero.
- New skins for Garen and Darius? Fans believe so on Reddit. User WindIsMyFriend writes: I think it’s Dawnbringer Garen and Nightbringer Darius. If you look closely, you can see that the one in the middle looks like Garen’s sword and the other with the wolves looks like Darius’ axe.
- Lore event? Instead of a new champion or skins, Riot could also present an event here.
