Which skill build is good?
The most popular choice of runes can be found below (via LeagueOfGraphs.com). With Ahri, you can easily trigger Electrocute and have significantly shorter cooldowns on your ultimate with Ultimate Hunter and Transcendence.
Ahri Build in Patch 13.11
Skill order: R>Q>W>E
You start the game with a point in your W ability, but then prioritize your Q. At level 2, you put a point into it, and at level 3, you give a point to your E, then you maximize the Q as this is your main damage tool.
Which items should you buy?
Your summoner spells are either Flash and Ignite or Flash and Teleport. Depending on the opponent (-team), it can also be beneficial to take Barrier.
- Mythic: Here you have several options: Often Everfrost is built, Luden’s Tempest or Liandry’s are also valid options. When choosing your Mythic, consider your own team as well as your opponents and decide accordingly.
- In most cases, you want to take the Sorcerer’s Boots here. However, if you want even shorter cooldowns, feel free to opt for the Ionian Boots of Lucidity.
- Shadowflame: You want to kill opponents quickly, and this item helps you with that.
- Zhonya’s Hourglass: As Ahri, you often initiate fights, but once your ultimate has expired (or you’ve used all activations), having an emergency button is never wrong.
- Your last items change depending on your opponent team: Morellonomicon if you’re fighting a lot of healing, Void Staff if the enemy team is very tanky, or Banshee’s Veil if you need to deal with a lot of crowd control.
3 Quick Tips for Ahri
- Ahri is not a typical assassin. Your damage is often not enough to “one shot” a target. Instead, you initiate fights and can deal damage “over time” thanks to your ultimate.
- Remember that your W deals double damage to minions that have low (20%) health. So use it for farming!
- Even though your E is great for initiating fights, sometimes it’s worth holding onto it to catch fleeing enemies or to wait for an opponent to use an important ultimate in order to interrupt it (like Miss Fortune).
As Ahri, you can quickly defeat minions with your Q and W, and then assist on other lanes. A well-placed E-Charm often guarantees a kill, so feel free to take the initiative and don’t just stay on your lane.
