In the competitive League of Legends, it is common to focus on a few or even just a single character. A LoL player has only played Poppy in Season 13 and achieved an excessively high statistic. However, the community is not thrilled.
What has the player achieved? The LoL player named “5ur5um” has specialized in a specific champion in Season 13. Poppy, the Keeper of the Hammer, is a Yordle and was completely overhauled in 2015.
The champion is a natural tank with high resistances and plenty of health. Typically, players buy items that help them die less often. “5ur5um” has taken this to a new level. The player has a KDA of about 119:1 after 126 games as a supporter in Season 13 (via op.gg).
This is particularly noteworthy because even professionals do not come close to such values. The best players of Worlds 2022 already had high statistics, but they are nearly 100 behind.
While supporters usually strive to win the game and sacrifice themselves for the greater good, the player focuses on kills. The community refers to this as a KDA player.

Few deaths are not the best way
What are KDA players? A KDA player is someone who only pays attention to their statistics throughout the game. Everything else about gameplay is put on the back burner. So, the player tries to take the path of least deaths in every situation.
Good KDA stats are often a sign that the player is either good or has mastered their character. In the League of Legends community, it often happens that players pay attention to their statistics. However, doing it excessively is not well received.
Why does the community react this way? When players are recognized as KDA players, the mood is very low. This is mainly due to the playstyle of such players. If one avoids every fight and only takes the safe trades, they can’t gain a significant advantage.
This is how the community sees it too. On Reddit, user “MichaelZZ01” writes: “LOL. After 6 years of playing League of Legends, this is the first real KDA player I see.”
User “Matthias1410” further mentions: “It is clear that Poppy is intentionally losing games. Part of the game is also knowing when to sacrifice oneself. She is probably just collecting KDA.”
Above all, the player plays Poppy in the support role. This makes her one of the less relevant targets, and if she then focuses on not dying, the KDA increases. This often leads to the game not going in the player’s favor, and maybe because of this, they lose the games.
