Meanwhile, some YouTubers have also formed teams in League of Legends or are part of the management. Two European YouTuber teams have now broken an LEC record. But how is HandofBlood’s team doing currently?
On January 15, 2024, the Spanish team MAD Lions KOI faced off against the French team Karmine Corp, breaking an LEC record.
- The average viewership for the match was 407,283 according to ESports Charts.
- The peak viewership during the match was temporarily at 741,450.
- MAD Lions KOI is partly owned by YouTuber Ibai Llanos, while Karmine Corp is partly owned by YouTubers and streamers Kamel Kebir and Zouhair Darjimassive.
- Karmine Corp bought the LEC spot from Team Astralis last season.
Karmine Corp lost the match against MAD Lions KOI and, along with Team Vitality, has yet to secure a win. This was the first meeting between the two teams, and the match broke the LEC record for regular matches.
Normally, such viewership numbers are only achieved in playoff matches. These high viewership figures come from the popularity and public presence of the YouTubers. There is also a team in Germany that was founded by a YouTuber.
HandofBlood has also founded a team
At the end of 2021, well-known YouTuber HandofBlood (Maximilian Knabe) founded his own e-sports team. With Eintracht Spandau, HandofBlood aimed not only to shake up the German LoL scene but also to compete in the European Cup. However, this endeavor has not been successful so far.
The lack of success visibly frustrated HandofBlood at the time, as his team was seemingly always relegated
, but the team continues to strive for improvement and success. Recently, they brought in the German midlaner PowerOfEvil, who has achieved solid success in the USA.
While the team has not yet reached the same level as the other YouTuber teams, its online presence is just as strong. As the fictional character President Knabe, he often shares humorous posts about Eintracht Spandau and takes the lack of success with humor.
How Eintracht Spandau will progress can be seen in the upcoming Prime League Spring Season, which starts its group phase on January 17, 2024.
HandofBlood is known not only for his appearances as the villainous President Knabe but also as a YouTuber who regularly produces elaborate and creative videos, for example, about Gollum or World of Tanks. However, this is set to change, as Hänno revealed himself in a new YouTube video: HandOfBlood says he lacks the passion for elaborate YouTube videos and now prefers to go live on Twitch almost daily.
