Bethesda tweeted a teaser image for a Fallout announcement today. There is also a live stream running on the Twitch channel. What could this mean? Is a new Fallout game coming at E3 2018?
After Fallout 4 has been out for three years now, fans are eagerly awaiting new announcements about the post-apocalyptic RPG. Bethesda is now fueling the rumors with a new teaser image on Twitter. “Please stand by”.
Live stream for Fallout is currently running
On Bethesda’s Twitch channel, a live stream is now running with the disturbance image and a Vault-Boy figure on repeat. Over 60,000 people are currently watching what is happening there.
Update 19:38: Just now a guy strolled into the picture and whispered something to the figure. It is therefore not just a still image, as some suspected. Reminds of the PR stunt that Overwatch head Jeff Kaplan pulled off at Christmas. 88,000 are currently watching the Bethesda live stream.
Fallout 5 at E3 2018?
What could this mean? Bethesda may already be announcing Fallout 5. Another option could be a Switch port of Fallout 3 or New Vegas, which has already been rumored before. In any case, similar teasers have been used in the past, most recently during the announcement of Fallout 4.
A Fallout 5 seems unlikely, considering the relatively short time since the predecessor by Bethesda’s standards. But maybe the publisher will surprise us again this year.
We can only wait and see.
What do you think? What kind of announcement regarding Fallout could be coming?
