Liverpool’s new signing Diogo Jota explains how FIFA 20 has helped him become a better footballer.
Many football professionals are also FIFA fans and enjoy spending time with the football simulation. Especially the Ultimate Team mode is popular, where the pro players usually have extremely strong teams, some even have particularly strong Pro Player cards of themselves.
This group also includes Diogo Jota.
Who is Diogo Jota? Diogo Jota is a 23-year-old football player who has just transferred from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Liverpool FC. He is an attacking midfielder who spends a lot of time playing FIFA besides football.
He even managed to dominate the FUT Champions Weekend League with 30-0 results and is in 61st place in the Top 100. This almost qualifies the football professional as a FIFA professional, as such results are by no means attainable for every casual player.

“In FIFA, you understand tactics better,” says the football professional
This is what the pro says about FIFA: In an interview before his transfer to Liverpool, the Portuguese midfielder explains that he regularly plays Football Manager 2020 and FIFA 20, and these games help him develop a better understanding of the tactics in real football. He says: “In FIFA, you can understand the tactics better.”
He continues: “You play for fun, but you also try to work on different things. For example, if your opponent plays in a certain way in the first half, I try to counteract with an appropriate tactic in the second half.”
And that seems to be working well on both the real and the virtual pitch. It will be interesting to see how Diogo Jota copes with FIFA 21. Here is everything you need to know about the release.
