In Liverpool, newcomer Diogo Jota is now a key player. However, his rating in FIFA 21 does not reflect this, which the player has now commented on.
For 45 million euros, the Portuguese winger transferred to Liverpool FC this summer. Since then, he has scored 7 goals in 11 matches for the English champions.
And even in the preseason, when he was still playing with Wolverhampton Wanderers, his performance was strong: He scored 16 goals and provided 6 assists. However, EA did not adjust his FIFA 20 rating and kept it at 80 for FIFA 21, even though he excelled in the Europa League with 8 goals.
This is exactly what bothers the player, as he reveals in an interview with a Portuguese TV channel.
Diogo Jota criticizes EA Sports for rating
This is what the professional says: In the interview, Jota said about EA:
I believe they were surprised that I transferred to Liverpool. They probably thought I would stay at Wolverhampton and did not bother to upgrade my card.
I have the same ratings as last year, even though I was one of the top scorers in the Europa League; they simply didn’t care.
However, the player became somewhat more conciliatory afterwards, saying: “As long as I get my 99 card, which apparently every pro can get, I’m happy.” However, this card will likely only be played by Jota himself.
That he would use it is very likely, as Jota is not only strong on the right football pitch but also on the virtual pitch. There he is probably the best FIFA player among football professionals:
But maybe Jota will be rewarded by EA for his good performances this season. With good performances, he could collect Inform cards and thus help his OTW card to get the first upgrades.
What do you think about Diogo Jota’s rating? Does he deserve an upgrade?
