Lineage Eternal is considered one of the great MMORPG hopes from Korea. Apparently, there is more DNA from Guild Wars 2 in the code than previously thought.
Lineage Eternal is the big project of NCSoft, on which analysts hinge the fortunes of the Korean MMO giant. The project, for both PC and mobile, aims to lead the MMO giant with its profitable franchises like Lineage, Blade and Soul, Aion, or Guild Wars 2 into the future.
Diablo 3 meets Guild Wars 2?
Until now, we have mostly thought of the game as a sort of “Diablo 3”-hack ‘n’ slash – somewhat like Lost Ark, which is also highly anticipated. Now, there is some information suggesting that Lineage Eternal is taking quite a bit from Guild Wars 2. NCSoft publishes it, while ArenaNet develops it.

There are said to be “shared, dynamic” quests that players can participate in, roaming within an area. According to Producer James Bae, this resembles the dynamic events of Guild Wars 2. Additionally, there will be large open-world bosses that cannot be defeated by individual players. It will take several players of different classes to accomplish that. There will be no healers or tanks.
The more LEGO you have, the more you can build
Dungeons in the game are also dynamic with endless possibilities for layouts and bob types. You should imagine it like LEGO, Bae says. The more bricks you have, the more things you can build. Currently, different variants of bricks are being added to the game.
Lineage Eternal has already seen some delays. However, the plan is for the game to enter an open beta in South Korea later this year. NCSoft has also confirmed that the game will receive an international release.
