The beta of Lineage Eternal, NCSoft’s highly anticipated AAA MMO hope, will soon be launched in Korea and you can already register for the test. But can players from the West join the big fun in Korea?
Lineage Eternal has been anticipated for a long time and recently there was finally a sign of life from NCSoft’s upcoming AAA online role-playing game with Diablo flair. With a spectacular trailer, the upcoming closed beta has been announced. From November 10 to November 20, players can apply for the test phase. Selected candidates from this application will be announced on November 24 and will then be able to gain first experiences in the world of Lineage Eternal from November 30 to December 4.
I am not Korean, but I really want to play Lineage Eternal!
As already mentioned, the beta of Lineage Eternal will initially start only in South Korea. A date for the West is not yet known. So what to do if you still want to join the Koreans? Just apply anyway and hope for the best? Unfortunately, it is not that simple, because in Korea you cannot just play an online game.
Rather, the laws of the Asian country require that we are either registered citizens with a Korean Social Security number or at least have a mobile phone registered in Korea. Moreover, there is still the problem of the language barrier, as the game will be in written and spoken Korean. However, if you have friends in Korea who happen to speak the language or travel to Korea often, you might be lucky and participate in the beta.
According to reports, some Western MMORPG fans have managed to participate in such betas in the past, and there are also detailed guides available online on how they managed to register for a “Korea only” beta. Please imagine a significant cough here.
