NCSoft has released a new trailer for the MMORPG Blade & Soul 2, focusing on the combat. And it looks truly spectacular.
What does the trailer show? In the video, several combat styles can be seen that you can acquire in the MMORPG Blade & Soul 2. This includes a martial arts style where the hero beats up enemies with his fists.
Next, we see a two-handed swordsman attacking multiple enemies at once with whirlwind attacks. A female swordsman shows how quickly she can deal damage with just one blade.
Magic is not neglected either. A representative of the Lyn people heats things up for the monsters with fire and ice magic. And an archer shows how she can take down multiple enemies with an area attack even while jumping in the air.

Are there bosses to see as well? The second part of the video revolves around boss fights. The group takes on a huge, troll-like enemy, attacking it from all sides. The monster doesn’t know whom to attack first.
Then a giant monkey rushes in on a sort of cloud and beats down on the party with a staff. And a deer-like monster creature represents the last boss we see in the video.
How do the fights feel? The confrontations are fast and full of action. At first glance, you wouldn’t think it is an MMORPG. The battles could also be from an action game.
The animations, effects, and combos create the impression of watching a martial arts fantasy film.
What is missing in the trailer? Although it is gameplay material, the UI is not visible. This makes it difficult to assess the controls. How do you switch between the individual attacks? How does dodging and jumping work? Everything seems so fast that one wonders what the key bindings look like in the PC version and whether there is a hotbar for selecting skills.
What can we expect with Blade & Soul 2? The MMORPG places you in the same world as the predecessor, but tells a new story. You guide your hero through several continents filled with many secrets to uncover. Exploration is therefore an important element. You determine your playstyle through the weapons you wield, not through a class.
The battles are once again in the spotlight, as the new trailer proves. Besides PvE elements like quests, there is also PvP, and Blade & Soul 2 is specifically being developed for the eSports scene.
When will the game be released? Blade & Soul 2 launches in South Korea in May and has already broken a pre-registration record. An international release is planned for this year.
