The motto of Season 5 is: Worlds collide. However, apart from a few missing items and newly positioned objects on the map, not much has happened. Until now! Since yesterday evening, August 23rd, lightning has been striking near Paradise Palms. What does this mean?
The lightning strikes always hit the same spot: On a mountain in the map section H9. There are cacti and a treasure chest on the mountain. Anyone standing at this location at the moment of impact will inevitably meet their end.
Are the lightning strikes a countdown? It is now known that the lightning strikes always hit the mountain 4 minutes after the hour. Every four hours, a cactus on the mountain is destroyed. The cactus that is destroyed in this way leaves a black spot on the ground.
Last night, the rhythm of the lightning strikes changed. We have now arrived at one lightning strike every half hour (each at 4 minutes after the hour and four minutes after the half hour).

But what will happen next? This question is currently a point of contention in the community. The theories vary widely:
- Some players suspect that the lightning indicates the announcement of Season 6. However, since the current season will still last for 3 weeks, this seems unlikely.
- The lightning strikes at a location that was once called Moisty Mire. Since the portals at the beginning of Season 5 only swapped locations with other dimensions, Moisty Mire must still exist somewhere and could even return.
- The lightning could signal the arrival of the Roadtrip skin, which can be unlocked starting this afternoon. This character will drive the story forward – no matter what.
The last theory is the most plausible. However, what exactly will happen remains to be seen.
