You play Palworld on Steam or Xbox and want to level up particularly quickly? MeinMMO reveals how you can gain a lot of experience points to level up fast.
The most important things in brief:
- In Palworld, besides your equipment, your level is primarily decisive for how strong you (and your Pals) are in the game. The current level cap has been at 60 since the Feybreak update.
- The higher you level up, the more buildings and technologies you can unlock. Your Pals will also always be scaled down to your level and cannot be stronger than you. Therefore, your level is essential for the game.
- The best and most effective method to level up in Palworld is to catch each Pal 10 times, as this will grant you a significant XP bonus. However, there are other ways to level up as well.
What is experience used for? With experience, both your level and your Pals’ levels increase. The higher your level, the more technologies and buildings you can unlock. You need many buildings if you want to upgrade your storage. Additionally, you gain a status point with each level-up that you can distribute.
What is the maximum level? The maximum level in Palworld is currently 50 and applies to both your character and all Pals.
Why is level important? You can only unlock certain buildings and abilities in the technology tree once you’ve reached a certain level. Your Pals are always scaled down to your level and cannot be stronger than you.

Adjust server settings for more XP
The easiest and fastest method: Adjust your server settings to gain more experience points. You can do this with both a new server and an existing game. Simply go to the settings and adjust the value accordingly.
The normal value is 1. You can increase this value up to 20; then, you will gain experience points at a very fast rate. However, the game may also become very easy very quickly. In the worst case, this may ruin your enjoyment of the game if you want some challenge.
Catch Pals
Especially at the beginning, it’s worthwhile to catch Pals. This is by far the best way to gain the most experience points early on. You get a special XP bonus for the first 10 Pals of a type. After that, the experience points per captured opponent decrease.
Catching Pals also gives you significantly more experience points than crafting items or defeating Pals. So, if you want to level up quickly, catching is the best way to swiftly rise in Palworld.
Therefore, don’t defeat every Pal you encounter, but catch many animals you see early on. This way, you can increase your level very quickly and gain access to better abilities and new buildings.
In the starting area, you’ll mainly encounter Chikipi (chickens) and Lamball (sheep). This allows you to level up quickly if you catch 10 of each. The level of both Pals is also very low.
Defeat bosses, Alpha Pals, and dungeons
You also gain many experience points when defeating bosses or participating in raids. However, this approach has a catch: bosses and dungeons are intended more for higher-level players. If you manage to defeat them, you will be rewarded with plenty of experience points.
Another option is to defeat Alpha Pals. These are stronger and larger variants of the normal Pals that you can otherwise find and catch on the map. Here, you also receive a substantial experience point bonus.

Tip: Place your base near a high-level enemy and then lure the boss Pal into your base. All Pals working in your base will help defend it against the intruder. This way, you can combine the combat power of half a dozen Pals or more to quickly eliminate the opponent. You can alsocombine the best types with strengths and weaknesses.
If your Pals get defeated in the boss fight, put them in your bank later. They will be revived after a cooldown.
