Every day, millions of people watch various types of streams on Twitch and YouTube. How about you?
Probably each of you has watched a live stream on Twitch or YouTube at some point in your life. The streaming platforms have become an integral part of the gaming and pop culture community.
The content streamed daily to millions of viewers can be incredibly diverse. For example:
- Regular entertainment streams where streamers play games and chat with their viewers
- “Just Chatting” streams that focus solely on conversations
- Artist streams featuring music mixing or body painting
- Developer streams where the community plays together or news about upcoming content is presented
- Esports events where pro gamers compete against each other in exciting battles, such as the League of Legends World Championship 2019
- Major event streams like E3 and gamescom, which will take place this year in a fully digital format
- Important announcements from major publishers like Sony or Microsoft about their new consoles
Nowadays, not only independent content creators use the streaming platforms, but also large companies and well-known event organizers.
The goal for all of them is the same: they want to reach their audience, meaning you. But do they succeed?
