Where can I find softwood? To find softwood, you need to go to the Duretal and look for cacti. Additionally, you need to craft a rare forest axe in advance, as you cannot chop the wood with a normal axe.
Where can I find the Duretal? The Duretal is a warm to hot region in LEGO Fortnite and is identifiable by the brown areas on the map. You can get softwood there from cacti, whether they are large or small. However, you cannot chop these with a normal forest axe; you need at least one of the “rare” tier.
Where do I get the rare forest axe? To craft a rare forest axe, you need different materials than for normal forest axes: polished amber, which can be found on the black rocks in the Duretal, and knorr root sticks. You can get the knorr roots for the sticks in caves. Additionally, you need to upgrade your workbench to “rare”.
What do I need softwood for? With softwood, you can build crafting tables for your settlement, decorations, and also useful equipment items. Here are some items that require the wood from the cacti:
- Weaving loom
- Essence table
- Toys (wooden boxes, large tires)
- Good luck charms that increase stamina and shield
- Gliders
- Rare crossbow
- Rare pickaxe
At the sawmill in your settlement, you can process the softwood into softwood sticks, which you need for some recipes.
