The latest game mode of World of Warcraft is live. You can experience “Legion” all over again, but you only have a few months.
It was announced a long time ago, expectations were high, and now it is finally here: Legion Remix has launched alongside Patch 11.2.5 and allows you to experience the entire expansion revolving around the Burning Legion once again. However, the game is drastically accelerated, there is new power, and a wealth of rewards that require you to play a lot – at least if you really want to have everything.
After Legion Remix, Midnight will follow soon:
How can you play Legion Remix? As with all other game modes, a WoW subscription is required for Legion Remix. It runs through the “Retail” client. There, you can create a “Timewalker” character on the character selection screen. Choose your class, create a character as usual, and just log in. You will be directly guided through the introductory quest line, at the end of which you will know the new mechanics and can experience your adventures on the Broken Isles.
Can you switch between Remix and Retail? Yes, you can. You can convert a Timewalker into a Retail character at any time. This is done through the character selection and a new menu item. Important: This change is irreversible. A Timewalker character that has left Remix and became a “normal” character cannot switch back! You should wait with this decision until you really have everything you want from Legion Remix.
Why should you play it? On the one hand, Legion was one of the most popular expansions, with great class quests and a coherent story featuring beautiful and interesting areas. Particularly Val’sharah and Suramar are still fondly remembered by many fans.
Aside from the nostalgia, there is also a seemingly endless array of rewards that you can earn. Everything you do in Legion Remix grants you Bronze. You can exchange it for transmogs, toys, pets, and mounts. Those who really want everything have to farm several million Bronze.
How long do you have? Legion Remix will last until January 2026, so at least a good 3 months. That should be more than enough time to earn most of the rewards.
If you only want a handful of rewards, it is best to wait a few more weeks. Because then not only will all game content from Legion Remix be active, but there will also be a “Catch-Up Event” where the earning of Bronze is likely significantly enhanced – at least that can be interpreted from the published schedule.
However, there is one special kind of reward that cannot be obtained: The Mage Tower Artifact Weapon Skins.
