This year, a new installment of the football simulation will be released with FIFA 22. However, many details have not been revealed yet. New leaks from June 23 show the new menus, reveal the download size of the beta, and provide some initial details about the gameplay.
What are these leaks? Many of the leaks come from Twitch streamer KingLangpard, who shares them on Twitter. The details about gameplay are particularly interesting:
- There is supposed to be a new feature for player switching while defending. By pressing R3 on the controller, you can switch between the 3 closest players. The switch with R1 still works.
- Calling in a second player in defense is said to have been slightly toned down. After 3-4 seconds, the pressing is said to stop.
- Quickly switching sides and heading the ball is said to be very powerful, which could lead to a “new meta.”
In addition to this gameplay information, KingLangpard also shared an initial picture of the menu and information about Weekend League.
Where does this information come from? KingLangpard states that the information comes from the beta. However, this beta is currently not publicly accessible, and the statements cannot be verified.
The Twitter account PlayStation Game Size also shared the download size of the FIFA 22 beta today. It is supposed to be 39.067 GB (via Twitter). This also indicates that a hidden beta has started in the background.
Still, enjoy the information from KingLangpard with caution.
Leak about the Game Menu and Weekend League
What does the new menu look like? The picture from KingLangpard is the first one showing the menus of FIFA 22. It features the beta logo for FIFA 22 in the top left corner, as well as some placeholders.
What does KingLangpard say about the Weekend League? The information about Weekend League was already shared by the streamer at the end of April (via Twitter). It states that the qualification will be changed:
- You must qualify every week
- 5 matches will be played, of which you must win 3
- You only have 3 attempts per week
