In Fortnite there could soon be major changes to vehicles. A leak suggests that mods are coming to the game that will allow for customization.
A leaker revealed this: On Twitter, HYPEX, a well-known Fortnite leaker, mentioned mods. These mods are supposed to be attachments for your vehicles that will allow for weapon installation as well as other customizations.
This could throw Fortnite’s meta into disarray. We show you the leak and reveal what might be behind it.
Attachments for Vehicles – Is this possible?
This is the leak: HYPEX writes on Twitter that there will not only be weapon mods for vehicles but also other attachments for cars. He mentioned that these would behave differently on various surfaces. Roads, mud, and grass were named by the leaker as surfaces that could influence the cars.
Weapons that you can equip on the car are said to be particularly interesting. So you could soon be driving vehicles that shoot while you steer.
How credible is the leak? About a month ago, the first leak appeared that mentioned weapons on vehicles. A text passage was found in Fortnite’s data that speaks of turrets on vehicles.
The new leak takes a step further and claims that not only weapons are coming, but also further customization options. Fortnite is apparently working on improvements for vehicles, but we do not yet know the exact scope of this.
However, one must also consider that these are just leaks. Fortnite has not officially released any data on this yet.
This could change in the game: Armed vehicles have been a problem in Fortnite in the past. There was already the X-4 Stormwing aircraft, which could attack opponents from above. The aircraft had unlimited ammunition and was considered overpowered.
An armed vehicle could be similarly strong. This means you are fast and somewhat protected. Opponents could hardly do anything against a powerful turret on the vehicle. It remains to be seen how strong the weapons on the vehicles will actually be.
