In less than a month, Destiny 2 will release its latest DLC “Lightfall” along with new content. However, a leak may now anger the community, according to Destiny 2 author Christos Tsogos. Because this leaves a bitter taste regarding the upcoming activities.
What has been leaked? The subreddit Destiny2Leaks is full of leaks regarding the loot shooter. However, a new one provides insight into the upcoming activities that are either still active or to be introduced with Lightfall.
While every player is now expecting the Vanguard Strikes as well as the battlegrounds, an activity has been listed that could turn out to be a seasonal activity. This should still be in the minds of every Guardian from Beyond Light.
The Forsaken may return
Which activity could return? The reddit user Professional_Pace955 has published an image showing the upcoming activities of Destiny 2: Lightfall. The image shows a new overview, along with some familiar activities.
The activities include:
- The battlegrounds
- Offensive (perhaps a new variant of the Vex Offensive)
- Vanguard Ops Playlist
- Empire, Nightmare, and Forsaken hunts
While now all listed activities should be familiar to every Guardian, one of them could cause some concern and that is the hunt for the Forsaken.
What is the hunt for the Forsaken about? At the release of Beyond Light and the Season of the Hunt, Guardians struggled in the story to hunt, track, and ultimately destroy followers of Xivu Arath. This hunt was an activity for three players, which quickly bored many Guardians.
The hunt begins: Throughout the system, Hive shrines appear. Spider has noticed the effect of this disturbance and wants to get in on the action. Work with him and Crow to develop a device that lures Xivu Arath’s lieutenants out of their hiding places. Upgrade your bait as soon as it’s built, catch your prey, and challenge the Hive goddess.
it was stated back then in Season 12 on Bungie’s website
There weren’t many of them to choose from. The process behind the hunt was always the same, and thus the activity could not shine with excitement. The mode was more like a filler with interesting dialogues to listen to rather than an activity in which one would like to spend time.
What does Destiny author Christos say about this leak? Every leak, whether trustworthy or not, should be enjoyed with a certain caution. This is also a non-final version of Destiny 2.
But if the leak is true, I assume that many Guardians will be yawning and looking for other distractions. The hunt for the Forsaken was relaxing and could be used perfectly for farming various cookie materials for the Dawning event. However, once the event was over, I never returned to the activity because it simply offered no variety or challenge.
It remains to be seen whether Bungie has only used a placeholder name here or if it is actually a new form of the Forsaken hunt. For my part, I will test it, but if there is a lack of variety, I would prefer to pass.
What do you think of the leak? Do you believe Bungie will revive its basic idea of the Forsaken hunt with fresh bosses? Feel free to leave us a comment on that!
