The new Call of Duty for 2021, allegedly called Vanguard, is supposed to bring many maps at launch. Among these is also “Mini Battle Royale.” But what could that look like?
What do we know about Vanguard? In recent days, leaks and teasers for the new installment of the Call of Duty series have increased. According to leaks, the entry for 2021 is supposed to be titled “Vanguard”.
- Leaks say that Vanguard takes place in World War II
- First assets have been found showing soldiers and locations
- In Warzone, first teasers for the new CoD start
The leaker Tom Henderson made a name for himself in the community because he accurately shared information about new shooters well before their official release. He now wants to know more about the maps of Call of Duty 2021.
Leak mentions “Mini Battle Royale”
This is new: Leaks suggest that CoD 2021 wants to launch with 24 multiplayer maps right from the start.
- 16 of the 20 maps are supposed to be 6v6 multiplayer
- That is more than Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War offered at launch
- 4 of the 20 maps are supposed to be a new “Mini Battle Royale”
These map details were shared by leaker Tom Henderson on the evening of August 13 on Twitter (via Twitter.com). The Mini Battle Royale is supposed to use the same mechanics as Warzone. The community speculates that it could be four sections of the large Battle Royale map from Warzone, played in a “smaller” match with fewer people.
Others suspect that it might simply be the Fireteam mode (via Twitter.com). For those unfamiliar: In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Fireteam is a game mode for 40 participants divided into 10 teams of 4. The teams must play objectives and also have vehicles available.
With “the same mechanics,” vehicles, armor, and loot boxes could be meant.
The leaker TheGhostOfHope writes on Twitter about the mode: “Think of Fire Team: Elimination 2.0 but with Warzone mechanics. You can buy your friends back into the game. Be the last survivor” (via Twitter.com).
What do you imagine under the “Mini Battle Royale” and what kind of mode do you wish for the Call of Duty for 2021? Share your speculations and wishes here on MeinMMO in the comments and engage with the community on the topic.
As the first teasers for CoD 2021 in Warzone are being shown, it shouldn’t be long before official information about “Vanguard” is released by the developer team.
