In early October, a hacker published a large leak of the earnings of major Twitch streamers and other information. In the latest episode of the MeinMMO Podcast, we discuss the leak in detail.
What leak are we talking about? On October 6, a large amount of internal Twitch data was published online, which was stolen by a hacker from the streaming service. This was the first part of a significant leak, which included the following information:
- Twitch source code
- Unreleased Steam competitor named “Vapor”
- Hacking tools intended for Twitch’s security team
- Payments to the 100 highest-earning Twitch streamers
- Internal services used by Twitch
Especially the earnings of the top Twitch streamers have caused a lot of stir, with many being surprised that streamers like xQc made hundreds of thousands of euros a month just from their subscriptions. At the same time, only three women were on the list of the top 100 earners.

Additionally, it was noted that some streamers are on a sort of “Do not Ban” list, meaning they cannot be permanently banned. This included controversial streamers like Tyler1 or Ricegum, who have made headlines in the past for negative reasons.
In the current podcast episode, we talk in detail about the leak.
