The Priest from Hearthstone is undergoing significant revisions. A lot of buffs and improvements are on the way – there are even some new “Classic” cards.
In the leak from a few hours ago, the magazine Polygon had already spoiled a new class for Hearthstone, the Demon Hunter. But for fans of the Priest, the leak was equally fruitful, as he apparently gets a small rework. Many old cards will be revamped and fundamentally improved. But that’s not all. There are also a few new cards to make the Priest more versatile. This even includes a brand new legendary card.
Card Changes for the Priest
These cards are changing for the Priest: In general, many of the Priest’s cards will be a bit cheaper or stronger. One can therefore speak of a clear buff for the cards. Although there is also a slight nerf on the “Temple Enforcer”, as his attack power drops from 6 to 5, his mana cost is also reduced from 6 to 5, which results in an overall improvement.
These new cards are coming for the Priest: In addition to the revisions of the old cards, there is also a number of new cards that will be added to the Classic set. Among them are some minions that perform well especially in the early game. The “Scarlet Subjugator” costs only 1 mana and has stats of 2/1, but also reduces the attack of an enemy minion by 2 until the Priest’s next turn with its Battlecry.
However, they are also not skimping on board clear. The new “Shadow Word: Ruin” ensures that all minions with 5 or more attack are destroyed – on both sides of the board – for only 4 mana.
The highlight is likely to be the new legendary card Natalie Seline. As the top member of the “Cult of Forgotten Shadows”, she is not only an important lore character but also has an interesting effect. For 8 mana, she has weak stats of 8/1, but her Battlecry compensates for that. She destroys a targeted minion and gains its life energy.
Just recently, there were new cards in the Battlegrounds mode – a total of 18.
So many adjustments are ahead for the Priest. When exactly these will go live is still not entirely clear – likely along with the next expansion “Ashes of Outland” or the start of a new year in Hearthstone.
What do you think of the changes to the Priest in Hearthstone? Cool updates or is it not enough to make him playable again?
It definitely looks like Hearthstone is getting a lot right now – but before they messed it up with “Galakrond’s Awakening”.
